LubeLife contact lubricant
LubeLife contact lubricant for contacting slip rings – contact lubricants developed specifically for SCHLEIFRING products for regular maintenance and relubrication of the slip ring tracks. Every lubricant is designed for a specific temperature range and field of application (LowTemp, Industry, Wind, HighTemp, HighPower).
The use of the correct LubeLife lubricant is crucial. The correct allocation can be found in the slip ring's maintenance instructions or by contacting our support team.

About LubeLife contact lubricants
Precise metering instead of gold contact spray
The LubeLife contact lubricants are the result of many years' development work at SCHLEIFRING – and are the logical successor to our earlier gold contact spray. The old contact spray came in a pressurized can, and precisely that was its drawback: When the fill level falls, the pressure in the can also drops. In the same spraying time, significantly more lubricant is sprayed when the can is full than when it is almost empty – it is thus hardly possible to apply the same amount of lubricant each time it is applied.
For LubeLife we have thus completely redeveloped the contact lubricant. Instead of an imprecise one-for-all solution, today there are different, precisely adapted formulas for different operating conditions. The lubricants are delivered in pump bottles that dispense the same amount of lubricant for every pump stroke – irrespective of the fill level.
Why is the correct lubricant film important?
Exact metering is crucial, as the lubricant film on the slip ring track is an important factor when maintaining a slip ring: A lubricant film with the correct thickness reduces the abrasion on the slip ring tracks and increases the service life tangibly. If the lubricant film is too thick, on the other hand, this has a negative influence on the contacting characteristics. It is precisely for this reason that LubeLife is available in five compositions – from low temperatures to continuous operation in the field of wind energy to high-temperature and heavy-duty applications.
Contact lubricants for customer-specific slip rings and wind turbines
SCHLEIFRING delivers to far more sectors than just the classic industry: Also demanding sectors such as the wind power industry rely on custom-made slip rings. While our industrial slip rings are maintenance-free, for these customer-specific systems regular relubrication with the correct contact lubricant is a decisive factor for a long service life.
Which LubeLife lubricant is best suited for your slip ring depends on which product was used for the initial lubrication in the factory – the most suitable lubricant cannot be derived solely from the product name. Binding information can be found in the maintenance section of your installation manual. How many pump strokes are to be applied in which area of the slip ring is precisely defined here. If you do not have a manual or are not sure which oil to use for your device, our team will help you quickly on the basis of your article number.
Use and shelf life of LubeLife
Maintenance using LubeLife comprises visual inspection and relubrification of the slip ring tracks – always in accordance with the installation manual and exclusively on de-energized, stationary systems. Regular relubrification increases the service life of your slip ring. If transmission problems have already occurred, relubrification will generally not solve these in the long term – in this case, please contact the SCHLEIFRING service team. Slip rings with carbon contacts are never lubricated.
Unopened in the original bottle, LubeLife has a shelf life of at least 10 years. After using the spray head for the first time, use the contact lubricant within 3 months of opening. Always store the bottles tightly closed, in a cool environment, and in the original bottle (0 °C – 40 °C).
